La Sierra University

Hi, my name is Rebecca Barcelo, the enrollment counselor from La Sierra University, (we may have spoken earlier in the year about a visit to your campus). I just wanted to share a little information with you in case there were any students who still might be considering a private university.

· We are a campus of about 2500 students in Riverside.

· Here at La Sierra University our largest programs are Pre-Professional programs including, Pre-Med, Pre-Nursing, and Pre-Dentistry, in partnership with Loma Linda Medical Center, featured on Oprah for it’s “Bluezone” health research. We also are known for Business, as we just built a new business center with state-of-the-art technology. You can view it at: www.lasierra.edu/business)

· We also offer over 60 undergraduate programs and 27 pre-professional programs.

· We are committed to educating future leaders and life-long learners. We are a liberal studies university which offers students a wide range of classes. Our small class sizes, 16:1 student teacher ratio, allows students to create personal relationships with their professors.

· All of our classes are taught by professors with Masters or Doctorate degrees in their field of study.

· We offer an Honors program that students can join if their GPA is a 3.7 or higher.

· Our study abroad program joins together campuses in different parts of the world such as, Spain, Japan, Greece, and Australia!

For more information your students can visit our website at: www.lasierra.edu We also offer students campus visits, where they can come tour our campus for free and see what La Sierra University has to offer them. We will reimburse students’ gas money, up to $100, they can stay in our dorms for free, and they can enjoy their meals in our cafeteria.

I have added a link to a video and would greatly appreciate it if you could show it to your juniors and seniors.

Thank you for your support of private higher education!

Congrats to our Counseling Interns!

Mrs. Chavez-Casas and Ms. Luansing wanted to share with you pictures from last night’s San Diego State University School Counseling Graduate Student Showcase.

There were about a dozen graduating school counseling students, our interns included, who presented their projects during their internships this year.

All the other students created and executed only ONE guidance lesson for the entire school year, our interns created SIX LESSONS for our 6-week 9th grade guidance lesson series for Freshman Success! Our interns obviously stood above all the other students!

We are so proud of their work for our school!

Congrats Ms. Henderson and Ms. Delgado in earning your Masters of Science degree in Educational Counseling!
