Wellness Wednesday: Growth

Challenges or hurdles are really the benchmark set to see how often you can exceed it. Your threshold is not what you define but what your success will define. The harder you try to overcome the hurdles the more successful you turn out to be.

We don’t grow when things are easy, we grow when we face challenges.

Self-Care Tip: Challenge your negative thoughts and look for the upside.

Kindness Challenge: Look for good in others. Make time to tell them their strengths.

We all need someone to talk to, someone who listens, and someone who understands. Your Sweetwater High School Counselors are here for you. Click here to complete the SUHi Wellness Check-In. Your counselor will reach out to you 😀

Because YELLOW stands for happiness, positivity, energy, optimism, and joy, we are asking for our campus community to wear YELLOW on Wednesdays to help promote our Wellness Wednesday efforts.

Wellness Wednesday: Be Your Best

Happy Wellness Wednesday Red Devils!

This week, the counselors are visiting our freshman social science classes to talk about high school planning and post-secondary goals. We talked about how to not settle for just being good enough, but to aim to be great. We should aim to be great in everything we do, push ourselves to be a little better everyday, and to not shy away from asking others for help.

Self-Care Tip:
Frustrated? Try a new way to react. See some tip here.

Kindness Challenge:
Bring someone joy. Share something that made you laugh.

Happy Wellness Wednesday!

Starting anew means new beginnings and fresh starts. If you can let go of the past, freeing yourself of failures and disappointments, you can embrace a new perspective—a fresh look at the future and all the wonderful possibilities it holds.

Kindness Challenge: Lift others up. Nourish them. Don't deflate.

Self-Care Tip: Slow down today. Don't rush. Take one thing at a time.

Community Service Opportunity: Toy Drive DRIVE-THRU EVENT

Wellness Wednesday: Kindness Rules

By seeing ourselves in others, we strengthen our capacity to empathize and care. By disregarding others, we add to the pain present in the world. Even in small things, it is this cycle of reciprocity upon which the health of the human family depends.

Reciprocity is a mutual exchange in a relationship. It is a social norm where if someone does something kind for you, you then return the favor. It involves treating others the way that they treat us.

All that we admire and appreciate about human kindness need the nourishing soil of reciprocity to flower.

Self-Care Tip:

Listen whole-heartedly to others without judgement.

Kindness Challenge:

Post a friendly review online for a business, restaurant, or school.
