The counselors would like to invite parents to attend our 6-week parent workshops, which will focus on providing you with tools to address the personal/social and academic development of your child. These workshops will be interactive and are targeting parents of 11th and 12th graders.

Guiding Your Student to Success


This workshop is designed to identify key areas parents of students at all grade levels need to constantly monitor. Parents will learn the power of each area and given proven strategies in implementing them in their homes.

Boosting Your  Parenting Skills


High School Students need their parents to be interested in their academic progress.  Parents will learn how to be involved in the educational process, specifically here at Sweetwater.

High School Graduation and University Requirements

Find out what is required to graduate from high school and the necessary steps towards applying to a 4-year university.


Myths About College



Sending your kid off to college can be a scary thing.  Learn about the myths about college and how to support your child once they are ready to go off to college.
How to Pay For College



Find out how to fund your children’s college education.  It’s better to plan early.  This is an opportunity to learn about the FAFSA application, the different types of financial aid and about scholarships.

Outside the Lens - Digital Media for Social Change



Outside The Lens is a local nonprofit committed to empowering youth to use digital media to create social change. 

This year, SUHi Alumni Kristian Castro is outreaching to local high schools all across San Diego to invite students interested in any form of digital media to the Outside the Lens Youth Council, which is becoming a great program that fosters students' creativity and leadership.  

Kristian mentioned the student participants so far are from La Jolla High, Torrey Pines High, and Bishops School. So...let's help SUHi represent!

Kristian will be doing a short presentation at LUNCH on OCTOBER 30th in the COUNSELING CENTER for any interested students.
