Community Serivce with Starbucks

Starbucks Global Month of Service

Beginning this week, Starbucks is kicking off the annual Global Month of Service by hosting a food drive to benefit Feeding America San Diego‘s efforts to feed local children, families and seniors. You can help by dropping off most-needed items like canned tuna, peanut butter and canned, low-sodium soups at any Starbucks location near you through April 5.

Additionally, volunteers of all ages are welcome to join Starbucks partners, friends, families, customers and Vons local grocery store associates on Saturday, April 12 at the Feeding America San Diego distribution center in Mira Mesa.

Volunteers will sort fresh produce, pack boxes and BackPack bags to help those facing hunger in San Diego during three shifts on April 12, 2014.

Get involved by signing up to volunteer using the steps below:

Step 1: Join our event on the Starbucks Community website community.starbucks.com/join. Search for the event using keywords: Feeding America San Diego.
Step 2: Follow the link on the Starbucks Community website to sign up on the FASD website for the shift you would like to attend. You will receive a confirmation email. Partners, friends, families and customers are all invited to sign up. Two hour shifts begin at: 8AM, 11AM, 2PM
Step 3: Spread the word! We need everyone’s help to reach our goal of 500+ volunteers.
Note: Each individual volunteer must register on their own. This helps us keep track of volunteer hours and ensure everyone has completed their waiver prior to entering the Distribution Center.

We hope to see you on April 12!
