Wellness Wednesday: How are You Today?

Happy Wellness Wednesday!

Monday marked the beginning of Suicide Prevention Week. During this week individuals and organizations around the country join their voices together in order to broadcast the message that suicide can be prevented, and to give as many people as possible the tools and resources to support themselves and those around them. To view more films about suicide prevention, visit: www.directingchangeCA.org.

Self-Care Tip:
Check out there Self-Care assessment. This tool is an overview of effective strategies to maintain self-care. After completing the assessment, you can develop a full self-care plan.

Kindness Challenge:
Ask someone “how are you today?” Practice active listening.

Affective Statement:
I’m so sorry that…

Because YELLOW stands for happiness, positivity, energy, optimism, and joy, we are asking for our campus community to wear YELLOW on Wednesdays to help promote our Wellness Wednesday efforts. Be on the lookout for the Peer Mediators’ yellow ribbons you can wear on Wednesdays in addition to your RED for ED.

We also invite you to encourage your students to visit our Wellness Wednesday lounge in the counseling center at lunch every Wednesday. It’s the perfect spot to de-stress and decompress.

To spread the good news of our wellness efforts, please use the hashtag #BeWellRedDevils in sharing your Wellness Wednesday activities.

Be Well Red Devils!
