I
would like to invite you to the 2013 Filipino Heritage Celebration at Bell
Middle School slated for Friday, October 25, 2013, 5:30-8:00pm at 620 Briarwood
Road, San Diego, CA 92139.
We expect over 400 students, parents, students and community members to
participate in the celebration highlighting Filipino Heritage History. This
year 2013, marks the 25th Anniversary of the Filipino Language class offered in
the San Diego Unified School District that first began at Bell Middle School
and then offered at Morse High School. We also have special guest speaker
Johnny Itliong son of United Farm Worker leader Larry Itliong; October 25th
would have been his 100th birthday.
The theme of the celebration is "Continuing Their Legacy....the Past,
Present and Future". Continuing the legacy of UFW leaders Larry Itliong,
Philip Vera Cruz, Carlos Bulusan, Cesar Chavez and Delores Huerta. Also the
legacy of Filipino Language teachers in the San Diego Unified School District.
We hope you can join us this Friday, October 25, 2013, 5:30pm at Bell Middle
School. If you would like additional information, please feel free to contact
me at your earliest convenience.
