UCSD Society of Women Engineers Conference

The UC San Diego Student Chapter of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) would like to encourage your female students to register for Envision 2019.

Envision is an annual, free all-day program that educates high school girls about career possibilities in engineering and computer science. The day’s program will include guest speakers from academia, hands-on computer science and engineering activities, and a project team fair at the UCSD Jacobs School of Engineering. There will also be a short program for parents to help prepare their children for college that is also free and separate from the student program. We encourage all families to attend; parent sign ups are included in the student sign ups.

Envision will be held on Saturday, February 2nd 2019, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

Wellness Wednesday: Thanksgiving #BeWellRedDevils

Happy Thanksgiving Red Devils!

What are you thankful for?

May you have a wonderful Thanksgiving week! Eat well, laugh often, and love much!

Self-Care Tip: Finish this sentence every day after you wake up: “Today, I am thankful for ___________.”

Kindness Challenge: Write a handwritten note to someone you are thankful for. I challenge you to choose one person on campus to send a note to. Don’t have a card? One is attached =)

Come by at lunch on Wednesdays to experience the Wellness Wednesday Relaxation Lounge in the Counseling Center at lunch on Wednesdays. It’s the perfect spot to de-stress and decompress. Nurse Wegener also has a relaxation space for students who need.

National Apprenticeship Week

Did you know that this week is National Apprenticeship Week! You can find out more info at the National Apprenticeship Week website and you can also sign up to receive the newsletter.

There are several events being hosted around San Diego that students can attend in electrical engineering and construction. On the website you can do a search by city and the events, description, and contact info show up. Some of them are far but one of them is being held in National City on the 16^th.
