Wellness Wednesday: Compassion

Happy Wellness Wednesday Red Devils!

Compassion is simply a kind, friendly presence in the face of what’s difficult. Compassion literally means “to suffer together.” It is defined as the feeling that arises when you are confronted with another’s suffering and feel motivated to relieve that suffering.

We are all dealing with our own personal challenges and struggles. Often times, the people we interact with every day have no idea what we are dealing with emotionally and personally. Let's choose kindness and compassion, everyday and in all of our interactions. It's the Red Devil Way!

Self-Care: Take a few minutes to be still and breathe.

Kindness Challenge: Do something kind for someone important to you.

Because YOU play the most important role at our school in keeping our campus safe, don't forget if you see something, say something

Because YELLOW stands for happiness, positivity, energy, optimism, and joy, we are asking for our campus community to wear YELLOW on Wednesdays to help promote our Wellness Wednesday efforts.

We all need someone to talk to, someone who listens, and someone who understands. Your Sweetwater High School Counselors are here for you. Click here to complete the SUHi Wellness Check-In. Your counselor will reach out to you 😀

Wellness Wednesday: Make it a Great Day

Happy Wellness Wednesday Red Devils!

Starting each day off with a positive mindset sets the foundation for a great day. Positive thinking, or an optimistic attitude, is the practice of focusing on the good in any given situation. It can have a big impact on your physical and mental health. It means you approach the good and the bad in life with the expectation that things will go well. Adapted fromWebMD

Self-Care Tip: Start the day with a positive intention, “Today I will…”

Kindness Challenge: Meet a friend and go for a walk/talk outside.

Because YOU play the most important role at our school in keeping our campus safe, don't forget if you see something, say something.

Because YELLOW stands for happiness, positivity, energy, optimism, and joy, we are asking for our campus community to wear YELLOW on Wednesdays to help promote our Wellness Wednesday efforts.

Pre-College Summer Programs

From a college admissions perspective, a strong academic profile alone is not enough to gain admission into highly selective colleges and universities. Applicants must convey to admissions committees a purposeful commitment to involvement and leadership outside the classroom

Hear from professors discussing topics of entrepreneurship, space science and physics in three webinars highlighting popular high school pre-college summer programs.

Wellness Wednesday: Respect

Happy New Year and Happy Wellness Wednesday!

Today's theme is respect. Receiving respect from others is important because it helps us to feel safe and to express ourselves. Respect means that you accept somebody for who they are, even when they’re different from you or you don’t agree with them. Respect  builds feelings of trust, safety, and wellbeing.

This week we are starting the "SUHi Say Something" campaign. Because students play the most important role at our school in keeping our campus safe we are asking for them if they see something, to say something.

They can really make a difference.

Bullying, substance abuse, relationship violence, and gang activity thrive in environments where bystanders tolerate activities that they know are wrong. Speaking out can make a difference in one person's life or even your whole school.

Making a difference isn't always easy; it can be uncomfortable to speak out for what is right. This form gives you a way to speak out anonymously.

Tips submitted through the below website are entirely confidential and completely anonymous.

Kindness Challenge: Share an inspiring quote to give someone a boost today.

Self-Care Tip: Let go of being busy. Take breaks. You deserve it.
