Hispanic Professional Engineers Empower Conference

The Society for Hispanic Professional Engineers is holding their annual Empower SHPE High School Conference at UCSD on April 25 -- a Saturday.

It is free and a great way for students to get
1) exposure to Hispanic/Latino/a mentors that come from their communities
2) hear from keynote Olivia Graeve (professor of electrical engineering, born and raised in Tijuana Mexico, and a great on-campus champion for diversity efforts)
3) get to see and experience hands-on labs with UCSD SHPE students.

This is a FREE annual conference, and Isabel Jauregui, the UCSD undergraduate student who is playing a lead organizing role, is a terrific young leader and CREATE partner and has been working with Dominga Sanchez from CREATE to put on many hands-on science events in your communities all year.

This is a great chance for  students to be at UCSD surrounded by Engineers to get empowered.

Transportation is unfortunately not provided, but parking is free and food is provided

Registration and additional information at shpe.ucsd.edu/empower and/or contact: Isabel Jauregui:  shpe.outreach@gmail.com
