Wellness Wednesday: Be Jolly

Happy Wellness Wednesday Red Devils!

On behalf of the SUHi Counseling team, we would like to wish you all a wonderful winter break. We hope the time off allows you to recharge, relax, and have fun.

It's been a pleasure working with all of you as we returned back to on-site learning. We thank you for your patience and understanding as we are trying to meet all the needs of our school community.

The holidays can be a joy-filled season, but they can also be stressful and especially challenging for those impacted by mental health concerns. Read here on how you can reduce stress and maintain good mental health during the holiday season.

Here are some additional resources in the community available to you:

Self-Care Tip: Let go of being busy. Take breaks. You deserve it.

Kindness Challenge: Share in inspiring quote to give someone a boost today.

Because YELLOW stands for happiness, positivity, energy, optimism, and joy, we are asking for our campus community to wear YELLOW on Wednesdays to help promote our Wellness Wednesday efforts.

We all need someone to talk to, someone who listens, and someone who understands. Your Sweetwater High School Counselors are here for you. Click here to complete the SUHi Wellness Check-In. Your counselor will reach out to you 😀

Wellness Wednesday: You are Unique

Happy Wellness Wednesday Red Devils!

Why do you care? Really take a moment to reflect on this: why do you concern yourself with what others think about you? You are a unique, gifted, and special individual. That is a fact. Now let that be your starting point and your living point. Read here for some thoughts on why you should dare to be different, celebrate the special uniqueness that is you, and not worry about what others think.

Self-Care Tip:
Expand your horizon. Read something different. Listen to something new.

Kindness Challenge:
Tell a loved one why they are special to you.

Wellness Wednesday: You Can Do It

Happy Wellness Wednesday Red Devils!

In life, attitude is everything.

If you’ve got a negative attitude, it will taint your entire outlook on life and dramatically decrease your ability to succeed. With a negative attitude, you will make little (if any) progress on the goals and ambitions you set for yourself.

Instead of consciously crafting a successful life, your negative disposition will often lead to a passive personality, one in which you shrug your shoulders and let life happen to you, rather than making things happen for you.

If that’s not the life you imagined for yourself, then it’s time to transform your current attitude into a can do attitude.

Here are some powerful and practical ideas you can start using today to make that attitude shift and start an upward cycle of success for yourself that will reverberate into every area of your life.

Self-Care Tip: What is your “why”? Make a list of things that really matter to you and why.

Kindness Challenge: Look for people doing good and let them know you noticed.

Because YELLOW stands for happiness, positivity, energy, optimism, and joy, we are asking for our campus community to wear YELLOW on Wednesdays to help promote our Wellness Wednesday efforts.
