Now Accepting Applications for the San Diego Symphony High School Ambassadors Program Summer 2020


The San Diego Symphony is seeking creative, driven, and responsible individuals who may be interested our High School Ambassadors program this summer.  The San Diego Symphony’s High School Ambassadors program is a PAID internship summer program to develop high school students for future employment. The program includes personal and professional development workshops, job shadowing opportunities and a capstone project. Participants will work as ambassadors for the San Diego Symphony within the community and during its Inaugural Season at its new summer venue, The Shell.

Program Benefits:

Internship Requirements:
Applicants must be 15 years old or over and be qualified to receive a work permit from their school district if under the age of 18—the graduating class of 2020 are eligible to apply. Interns must commit to six program dates (July 17, July 24, July 31, August 7, August 14, August 21) and must be available during all program dates. Schedule flexibility on dates are necessary. Ambassadors will work at the San Diego Symphony administrative offices and new permanent summer venue, The Shell, both located in Downtown San Diego. Transportation may be provided between the two venues but participants must arrange their own transportation to and from home.

How to Apply – Deadline to apply for the High School Ambassadors is 11:59 pm on April 14, 2020*.


Complete the Internship Application, including the essay questions, and return along with two letters of recommendation. Letters from school faculty should include how the applicant would benefit from the Internship, and indicate how long the candidate has been known. Letters must be on organization letterhead.
