Wellness Wednesday: Acknowledge Your Feelings

Happy Wellness Wednesday Red Devils!

May is Mental Health Awareness Month and this week is Student Mental Health Week. The counselors are hosting daily presentations about mental health this week. The past two days we have talked about the definition of mental health, feelings, emotions, empathy, and how to recognize physical signs of mental health concerns.

We hope you can join us today, tomorrow, and Friday at 2:30PM.

You can view the recordings here:

Self-Care Tip:

Unplug. Social media can be overwhelming and cause an overload of information. Commit to dedicated time from technology and focus on self-care.

Kindness Challenge:

Send someone you care about a nice text right before you go to bed.

The state of your mental health affects how you think, feel, and ultimately how you act. It's crucial that we express these emotions with others on a daily basis. By talking about mental health openly, more people may be encouraged to seek help from a trusted adult, school counselors, or our community based partners.

We all need someone to talk to, someone who listens, and someone who understands. Your Sweetwater High School Counselors are here for you. We are just an email, video chat, or phone call away.

Virtual Wellness Room

Please visit our Virtual Wellness Room to take a break from your online classes. Do some breathing exercises, stretch, or play a game. It's OK to take a time out in the middle of the day for a "brain break".
