Wellness Wednesday: Be Brave

Happy Wellness Wednesday Red Devils!

What does it mean to be brave? Being brave is not about not being scared. Being brave is one's ability to push forward, regardless of that fear. Bravery is having or showing mental or moral strength to face danger, fear, or difficulty.

When faced with a difficult situation, tell yourself  "I AM BRAVE" because YOU ARE! Often times, we have to remind ourselves that you have overcome many obstacles in the past and you have shown your bravery time and time again. You are brave.

Self-care is crucial for our physical, emotional and mental well-being. In order for our students, parents, and staff to be the best they can be for each other, they have to take care of themselves first.

Self-Care Tip: Remember, change is not always bad. Things can change for the better.

Kindness is very important in creating a sense of community and belonging. One act of small kindness can release an enormous chain of positive events. It is important for students, parents, and staff to feel we are a part of the same community, working towards the same goal of mental wellness.

Kindness Challenge: Treat everyone with kindness today, most especially yourself.

We all need someone to talk to, someone who listens, and someone who understands. Your Sweetwater High School Counselors are here for you. We are just an email, video chat, or phone call away.
