Wellness Wednesday: Practice Gratitude

This week is National Suicide Prevention Week 2021 in the month of September which is National Suicide Prevention Month. 

You are not alone in helping someone in crisis. There are many resources available to assess, treat and intervene. Crisis lines, counselors, intervention programs and more are available to you, as well as to the person experiencing the emotional crisis.

Practicing gratitude — such as with a diary — can increase positive emotions and lower the risk of depressive symptoms that can lead to suicide. While some argue it "can't fix everything," gratitude is a low-cost, high-impact way to maintain your mental health.
