Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) SDSU Chapter Annual High School Conference

On behalf of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) San Diego State University (SDSU) Chapter, I would like to formally extend an invitation to you and your students and invite you to our 38th Annual High School Conference!

This year, our conference will be held on Saturday February 5th , 2022 in our Aztec Student Union from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm. Our purpose is to change lives by empowering the Latinx community to reach its fullest potential and to raise STEM awareness in the surrounding communities. We would like to introduce the world of engineering to our future generations so that they may continue to create, build, and explore.

Students attending the conference will be exposed to different aspects of engineering through hands-on workshops displaying engineering concepts, go through Q & A sessions with professional and Student Panelists, and a tour of SDSU.

Later in the day, after the complimentary lunch, we will be having scholarship winners announced, giveaways, and closing remarks). This conference is free to all High School students with prior registration. I would like to emphasize that students will not be allowed at the conference without prior registration and a completed liability waiver. The deadline to complete the individual student registrations is January 13th , 2022.

However, early registration is highly encouraged to ensure that food accommodations are met and to guarantee a spot in the conference. There will also be incentives for those who register by January 2nd , 2022.

Registration has opened and can be accessed with the RSVP Form. On behalf of SHPE SDSU, we will also be sponsoring a Scholarship that can be accessed with the Scholarship Form link and we ask students to complete and submit this form no later than January 22nd at 11:59pm.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions at shpe.sdsu.vpexternal@gmail.com. Thank you for your time and I look forward to seeing you.
