On behalf of Columbia Engineering and Columbia Undergraduate Admissions, we are pleased to inform you and your students about the Virtual Columbia Engineering Experience (CE2). As a counselor and adviser, you are invited to share this opportunity with your organization's outstanding seniors (based on our recommendations below) who demonstrate a strong interest in engineering, science, math and technology.

Your students may apply for this selective program via our online application.

Application Deadline: Monday, August 31, 2020

CE2 was created to encourage high-achieving high school seniors from historically underrepresented backgrounds to explore an engineering education at Columbia; it is our only selective virtual program, designed for high school seniors. This year CE2 will take place in two sessions: September 19 - October 3, 2020, or October 3 - 17, 2020. Students selected for the program will be placed in a session based on capacity and student preference.

Program Highlights Include:
World-class faculty and research: Learn and ask questions with members of Columbia’s renowned faculty, including an introduction from Mary C. Boyce, Dean of Engineering.

Inside look at life as a Columbia student: Work with an undergraduate student mentor, learn about campus life and hear from current students, including leaders from a variety of student organizations.

Exclusive career and entrepreneurship opportunities: Hear from Columbia Engineering alumni, including alumni of the Columbia Engineering Experience.

The NYC advantage: Learn about the cultural, professional, research and intellectual opportunities at our doorstep.

Admissions 101: Participate in comprehensive college admissions and financial aid workshops and office hours conducted by members of the Columbia Admissions Committee.Due to the selectivity and limited size of the program, an application with a transcript is required. Students may self-report their transcripts.

CE2 is designed for high-achieving high school seniors who have:
Exemplary academic records, particularly in math and science, including coursework in calculus, physics and chemistry
Sincere interest in pursuing an engineering education
Genuine appreciation for the educational value of diversity in all its forms - ethnic, geographic, religious, political, intellectual and so on

CE2 is designed to serve students from backgrounds that are historically underrepresented in engineering and applied science fields, including:
Low-income students
Underrepresented students of color
Students who will be the first generation in their family to attend college
Students from underserved and rural communities
