Wellness Wednesday: Smile with Gratitude

Happy Wellness Wednesday!

The SUHi Counseling team would like to wish you and your families a very happy Thanksgiving. Although this year has had it's challenges, we find ourselves very thankful to be able to serve the community of Sweetwater High School, especially through these tough times. Thank you for your patience and grace as we have tried to navigate our new "normal".

This Thanksgiving, we challenge everyone to SMILE. Smile big, smile often. A strong link has been found between good health, longevity, and smiling. Most importantly, studies have shown that just the act of smiling (making the physical facial shapes and movements), whether the result of real joy or an act, can have both short- and long-term benefits on people's health and wellbeing.

Self-Care Tip:
Smile more. Research shows that if you smile, your mood improves.

Kindness Challenge:
Send a smiling selfie to someone with a message of gratitude for their presence in your life.

Virtual Wellness Room

Please visit our Virtual Wellness Room to take a break from your online classes. Do some breathing exercises, stretch, or play a game. It's OK to take a time out in the middle of the day for a "brain break".
