Wellness Wednesday: International Self-Esteem Month

Happy Wellness Wednesday!

February is International Self-Esteem Month.

Self-esteem refers to a person's beliefs about their own worth and value.

It also has to do with the feelings people experience that follow from their sense of worthiness or unworthiness.

Self-esteem is important because it heavily influences people's choices and decisions.

In other words, self-esteem serves a motivational function by making it more likely that people will take care of themselves and explore their full potential.

Here are some ways you can improve your self-esteem:

Self-Care Tip:
Write positive messages on Post-It Notes and place them on mirrors in your house.

Kindness Challenge:
Compliment the first three people you see today.

We all need someone to talk to, someone who listens, and someone who understands. Your Sweetwater High School Counselors are here for you. We are just an email, video chat, or phone call away. Click here to find our contact info.

Virtual Wellness Room

Please visit our Virtual Wellness Room to take a break from your online classes. Do some breathing exercises, stretch, or play a game. It's OK to take a time out in the middle of the day for a "brain break".
